About Me

My name is Mehul, I am a master's candidate with background in bachelors of electronics engineering from VJTI in India. My research interests are applications of artificial intelligence in real-life such as use of computer vision in real-time video analytics, and also development of cybersecurity software to combat the impending threat on enterprises and industries against security breaches. I am particularly interested in the application of artificial intelligence in the domain of cybersecurity to come up with highly effective security solutions. View my ongoing research here

Sentiment Analysis Web-App

A web-app for running sentiment analysis on live tweet scrapped from Twitter, to be used as an OSINT tool. The web-app framework is of Flask, with an NLP algorithm written in Python running in the backend, the results are then displayed on a web page. The web-app is hosted on Heroku and is available online to use.

Traffic Signal Prediction

A deep learning algorithm, written in Python which uses convolutional neural networks (CNN) to classify images of traffic signals amongst a database. This application forms the basis of autonomous vehicles.

Language Prediction

A machine learning algorithm, written in Python which uses Naive Bayes model to classify text from different languages amongst a database. This application forms the basis of automated translation from one language to another.

Housing Price Prediction

A deep learning algorithm, written in Python which uses neural networks to train the model based on house prices in the past with features such as age of house, distance from city center, etc. This application forms the basis of estimating the future price of a house based on the metrics.

Research Interests
My research focus is on how artificial intelligence can be applied to a number of modern day applications ranging from autonomous driving to security.
I am also interested in working towards building effective solutions in the domain of cybersecurity, coming up with security softwares with implementation in IT and OT.

Cybersecurity of Industrial Control Systems
Working on developing an end-to-end Networks Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), that works an a hybrid model for maximum effectiveness. The hybrid IDS model is comprising of two layer, first layer of a traditional signature based IDS and the second layer consisting of an anomaly detection algorithm to filter out network traffic that might be suspected of a zero-day attack.
